Samuel Emmons Hollister
(25 Apr 1817, 24 Jun 1876)

He was born in Saratoga County, New York, parents unknown. He was a California pioneer who captured bears for exhibit in New York.
The inscription on this lithograph of him is:
"S. E. Hollister, the Great American Hunter & Trapper.
His famous encounter with the enormous SHE BEAR while capturing her CUBS, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, between the American and Mocosume Rivers,
California, in March, 1853."

She married Samuel Emmons Hollister on 23 Jan 1844.

Daughter of Samuel Emmons and Mary Ann (Demarest) Hollister
