4. Edward HOUCHINS (Edward ) was born about 1700 in , New Kent, Virginia. He died about 1765.

BIRTH: Assumed from IGI Virginia (Hauchon) for his brother Charles and sister Rachel and the dates of marriage of his children.

BIRTH: There is no official record of Edward's birth.  However, there are marriage records for his son Francis and grandson James Jesse recorded in New Kent County, St. Peter's Parish.  I believe that he is therefore the brother of Charles and Rachel Houchins (Howchens) who were christened at St. Peter's Parish.  I have estimated his birth year based on the years when his children are marrying and the christening years of his siblings.

MARRIAGE: The will of Edward (Houtchens) dated 7 December 1762 mentions "lawful wife Aner", according to the Houchin history book.  It is assumed that her name was really Hannah and that it was improperly recorded by the clerk, but there is much dispute about that.

CHILDREN: His sons John, Charles, and Francis are mentioned in Edward's Will.
The other children (Mary, Rachel, Agnes, Susanna) are assumed to be his children due to their Goochland County marriages in the 1750's in St. James Northam Parish.  The book "History of the Houchin Family in the United States" also lists these same children for Edward and Hannah.

DEATH: Edward's will was filed for probate on 19 February 1765, according to the Houchin history book.

Edward married Aner about 1728. Aner died.

They had the following children.

John married Martha ORFORD in 1750 in , Goochland, Virginia. Martha died.

MARRIAGE: IGI Virginia, Houchins and Houtchens.  Her husband John is also mentioned in her father's Will.

MARRIAGE: They were married in St. James Northham Parish.
       
Elizabeth married John CLEMENTS, son of Stephen CLEMENTS and Elizabeth, on 28 Jan 1775 in , Goochland, Virginia. John was born in , , Virginia. He died.

Mary HOUCHINS was born in , , Virginia. She died.

MARRIAGE: IGI Virginia, Houchens. Some IGI records show 1745 date. Also documented in "The Douglas Register".

MARRIAGE: The book "The Douglas Register" documents the marriage between Mary and John Tuggle.  However, it also has a marriage record for Mary Huchins/Houchens to John Ingle on 10 May 1758.  The Houchin Family History book assumes that this John is the same as John Tuggle.
 They were married in St. James Northham Parish.
       
Mary married John TUGGLE on 19 Sep 1756 in , Goochland, Virginia. John died.

MARRIAGE: IGI Virginia, Rachael Houchins and Houtchens married Henry Ackinson, Ackerson.  One record shows date 20 Jan 1776.
       
Rachel married Henry ACKINSON on 20 Jan 1756 in , Goochland, Virginia. Henry died.

Agnes married William PAGE on 2 Dec 1757 in , Goochland, Virginia. William died.
